Electrical stimulation reduces
both chronic and acute pain.

Ultrasound reduces inflammation,
pain, muscle spasms, and edema.

Our Physical Therapy Department offers passive treatment and modalities for acute and chronic pain management. We coordinate an aggressive active treatment program for rehabilitation. This department consists of an aqua massage machine, exercise gym for range of motion and strengthening, ultra sound, electrical muscle stimulator, physical therapist, physical therapy aides, and a massage therapist who specializes in Swedish massage and deep tissue massage. This special staff makes it possible for the patient to benefit from one to one contact. All treatments emphasize patient education regarding the mechanism of injury, healing process, and prevention of further injury. Physical rehabilitation includes education to correct posture and physical fitness programs which are specifically designed for patient's individual needs.

The Spine and Orthopaedic Medical Center believes in a complete continuum of care which addresses a variety of needs for ous patients. Because of this belief, we have added services such as massage therapy, which addresses the total wellness of each patient.

There are many proven clinical benefits of massage therapy. It has been shown to reduce, and in some cases, eliminate muscle inflammation and spasms. It has also proven to reduce symptoms of chronic maladies, such as fibromyaligia. Additionally, many patients who suffer from lower back pain and joint discomfort benefit from the therapeutic value which massage therapy brings.
